Apple Studio Display Review: Hey, nice look March 31, 2022by Martin 6 Once upon a time, Apple created a series of branded monitors specifically for the Mac , or Mac mini , or to connect to your MacBook and expand your desktop. Over the years, this offer eventually declined and was discontinued in 2016 - only to be released in 2019 with the Pro Display XDR . But with great goals and an even higher price - it costs £4599 / $4999 / €5499 - it's out of reach for most Mac users. Now, alongside the launch of Mac Studio, Apple has released a more affordable offering with Display Studio. But should you consider it given the wide range of other high-end monitors out there? project Dimensions: 478mm (H) x 623mm (W) x 168mm (D) / Weight: 6.3kgs 3x USB-C ports (up to 10 Gb/s) for connecting peripherals, storage and networking 1x Thunderbolt 3 port (USB-C) for hosting (96W charger) Following the LED Cinema Display and then the Thunderbolt Display, the Studio Display not only has a 27-inch 5K Retina display, but also a camera, microphone, and speakers.
Designed to look like a giant iPad or the company's IMac , there's a 12mm thick C Level Executive List black glas* bezel around the outer edge that frames the screen. It also includes an ultra-wide 12-megapixel camera, which is the only thing that stops the proceedings - because the speaker grilles are almost invisible (when looking directly at the screen) on the top and bottom of the outer corners. On the back of the display there are three USB-C ports and one Thunderbolt 3 port, which supports 96W charging for charging the MacBook (and even fast charging for the 14-inch MacBook Pro ). There are no Ethernet connections or traditional USB-A ports. The Studio Display comes with a choice of three stands that you have to choose at purchase, although these can be changed later by visiting an Apple Store. An adjustable label stand (supplied as standard) allows you to tilt the display from -5 to +25 degrees, while an optional adjustable label and height stand that can be moved up to 105mm is available for those who update is available.
Yes, even your monitor may need an update. For those not fussed about a stand, there is also a VESA mounting option. The stand, like the display back, is made from recycled aluminum and follows the same design language as the company's MacBook and Mac ranges. Simply put, it's compatible with your other Apple devices. Performance of the show 27-inch 5K Retina display 5120 x 2880 resolution 600 is light Color gamut P3 A step up from the company's Pro Display XDR, the 27-inch 5K Retina display offers Apple's True Tone technology , 5K resolution for a density of 218 pixels per inch (PPI), 600 nits of brightness and a wide color gamut (P3). The screen is bright (sometimes very bright at full brightness), bright, vibrant and like everything in the company's MacBook and iMac range. However, Apple is missing out on its offer Advertising 120 Hz screen technology, something that we are sure would have been very welcome .
